(for more info on CABEC, visit: www.cabec.org)

CABEC hosts a yearly conference in a different city in California. This years conference is set to take place in Palm Springs, California. The CABEC conference committee wanted to design a logo that encapsulated the title of this years conference, along with natural elements “wind, water, and sun, (and a lil’ palm tree).”

After clear communication and fine-tuning the CABEC Energy Oasis 2017 logo/brand/identity to the conference committee’s satisfaction; we then proceeded in formulating the CABEC Energy Oasis 2017 Logo Style-Guide. The Logo Style-Guide is an instruction sheet that helps clients understand the various file-formats their logo is saved in and what the different uses are intended for. We at Republic Design Company pride ourselves on educating our clients on proper logo usage techniques and are always available to assist our clients on an on-going basis…

101 Roofing: logo, website, shirts (and beyond)

Posted on September 18, 2014 Posted in Identity, logo, Logo/Identity, Logo/Identity + Ad Design, Logo/Identity RE-design, Marketing Collateral, web design, web development, website designTagged 101, 101 Roofing, 101 Roofing & Construction, apparel, clients, Construction, custom buttons, Design, elements, facebook, google+, graphic, graphic design, identity, implementation, instagram, LA County, linkedin, links, logo, pintrest, print, printing, product, production, projects, promo, promo product, promotional, promotional product, re-design, re-production, Republic, Republic Design, Republic Design Company, Roofing, Santa Barbara County, screen, screen printing, short sleeve t-shirts, silk, silk screen, silk screen printing, silkscreen, t shirts, tumblr, twitter, ventura county, web, website, website design, websites, www.101roofing.com1 Comment

101 Roofing & Construction commissioned Republic Design Company for the design, implementation, and production of the following 3 projects/elements:

1. re-design of logo/identity
2. website re-deisgn (www.101Roofing.com)
3. t-shirt screen-printing (qty.25).

First, as the name of the company evokes, “101 Roofing & Construction,” draws a strong affinity to thee 101 freeway; which runs throughout/connects it’s service area of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties. As-such, we wanted to combine visual similarities of “roofing and/or roofs,” along with the iconic 101 freeway shield. The following are 5 design comps/variations we originally came-up-with…

After client selected logo/identity (at top of this wordpress entry), we then proceeded to create an online presence as featured at http://www.101Roofing.com.

Client specified that they wanted to be featured on a vast array of popular social media platforms, (facebook, twitter, google+, tumblr, pintrest, linkedin, instagram). We created custom buttons+links for previous/current/perspective clients to add/follow/be-friend 101 Roofing & Construction, “all over the place, (so-to-speak).”

"Follow 101 Roofing EVERYWHERE..."
“Follow 101 Roofing EVERYWHERE…”

Concurrently, in the natural course of design discovery, we wanted to continue to include iconic visuals associated with 101 Freeway crest, now infused with it’s “Roofing & Construction” aesthetics. The result is a “Ventura Freeway-esque” inspired adornment, complete with iconic green freeway signs, freeway trussing, whimsical palm trees/shrubbery, light-posts, and blue skies…

Client also wanted to address ambiguity of service area. As such, we created a semi-topographical map of the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties area and listed every single city in their “Service Area.”

Last, we silk-screen-printed some long-sleeve t-shirts for the 101 Roofing & Construction Staff:

Thanks to 101 Roofing & Construction for the opportunity to assist in the (re)design, (re)production, and implementation of all marketing collateral. Looking forward to future opportunities to work together on mutually beneficial projects…

“A DAY IN THE LIFE OF…” is a mini documentary profiling Republic Design Company and it’s Principal, (me), “Rafael_Republic.”

With the help of Javier Ordoñez and Jonathan (“Johnny Savage“) Avila of Basic Space Studio; the dynamic duo filmed and edited this mini documentary and helped Republic Design Company bring this project to fruition.

Now-a-days, having a website isn’t enough. The power of video across thee Internet is rapidly becoming a formidable tool that all businesses should employ if having a web presence is vital to a company’s viability. The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) opportunities and capabilities of having a video profiling a (your) company is near astronomical.

With this in-mind, the problem we posed ourselves was, “how do we show existing and perspective clients what Republic Design Company does.” Moreover, “how can Republic Design Company demonstrate ‘graphic design’ in a relatable, tangible light to a perspective viewer?” The seemingly easy solution actually turned-out to be more difficult than anticipated. The reason being is that there are lots of ways to answer these “problems.” The answer we selected was to employ an honest/natural approach by being casual and informative of “Republic Design Company’s day-to-day operations…” The result is the video you see before you…

Please view, share with your audience, and contact us for opportunities to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects.

“We thank you for your attention, and not to mention, your love and affection…”
