Despite what you may believe, “Actors and Actresses need to eat!” The reality is, it takes a small village to put together movies and films. “Ready To Serve • Motion Picture Catering” is a collective of world-class Chef’s that serve a specific niche (Catering) in the Hollywood/Movie/Film/Motion Picture industry. They wanted to employ “Tools-of-the-trade (aka cooking utensils),” in their logo design. After several versions and variations, the Ready To Serve logo was, well, “Ready To Serve…”
After clear communication and fine-tuning the Ready To Serve • Motion Picture Catering logo/brand/identity to the principals satisfaction; we then proceeded in formulating the Ready To Serve • Motion Picture Catering Logo Style-Guide. Chef Geno Bahena is a Mexican Culinary Advisor responsible for the opening of over a dozen restaurants in the Chicago area. “Geno” specializes in cooking classes, menu consulting, catering, food styling, cookbooks, Mexican kitchen layouts, culinary research for TV programs and restaurant start-ups. Mojado Grill is Chef Geno Bahena’s first offering on the West Coast, and currently helms the kitchen at La Costa Mission Restaurant in Malibu, CA.

Some important design parameters, were that we were to use a nice, easily-readable, script-stylized font for both the name of the restaurant, as-well-as, “by Chef Geno Bahena,” title. We were also given “carte blanche,” to come-up-with and infuse what we believed an appropriate representation of not only “Mojado (aka “wet,” in spanish), “Grill” (flame + yellow-to-red color gradient with brushed aluminum texture). The result, was/is the following:

After principals fell in-love with their logo, we then created 4-different variations which include:
1. Full-color logo,
2. Grey-scale logo,
3. Black with white background logo, and
4. White with black background logo,
each saved in:
1. Adobe Illustrator File (.ai),
2. Portable Document Format File (.pdf),
3. Jpeg File (.jpg), and
4. Ping File (.png).

Finally, we coupled everything with a critical document that contains instructions + information we call thee “Logo/Style-Guide.” This document explains what each file type is used for, including CMYK + HEX# color-guard, gradient strokes, and textures employed.

First, a little background…
The Q Club Oxnard is a full-service billiards, bar-and-grill, sports lounge, that has been a staple in Oxnard and the Ventura County area for many, many years. To best exemplify Q Club Oxnard and capture it’s “essence,” one can-NO! -One must draw the comparison between it, and the hit 80’s T.V. sit-com, “CHEERS” (featuring Ted Danza, Kristie Alley, Shelley Long, Kelsey Grammer [to name a few] and various other beloved actors/characters). Q Club Oxnard, just like “CHEERS” magically capture an essence and camaraderie that was (then) and is (now) best summed-up by the now-infamous quote:
“where everybody knows your name…”
Simply-put, The Q Club Oxnard is, “home.” A friendly place where ALL are welcome to catch their favorite game on TV, have a drink, play a little bit of pool/billiards. Heck, Q Club Oxnard even comes fully equipped with their very own “Norm (played by then actor George Wendt)!” You have to visit and experience it for yourself…

Republic Design Company was called upon to strategize, delineate, and stream-line Q Club Oxnard’s core competencies into the 8 following categories:
1. Delicious Grill Menu | 2. Fully Stocked Bar: 16 beers on Tap & Mixed Drinks! | 3. Party + Catering Facilities for all Occasions | 4. 3 x 16 ft. Mega-Screens + Flat Screens Throughout | 5. Coupled with recurring/subliminal messages on-top of imaginary green-felt background of pool table, was, of-course the Q Club Oxnard logo and contact information, hours, and facebook web address:

Instead of creating individual/personalized business cards for each employee of the Q club Oxnard; we designed the marketing collateral piece in such a way that not only can existing and perspective employees of the Q Club Oxnard could write their names onto, but key friends-and-family of the Q Club Oxnard (or whomever management would like to grant access to) can “write their name” directly to the left of “says…” with a pen or Sharpie…

The objective and parameters set-forth by Cynthia and Erika were simple. They wanted very bright and happy colors that encapsulated both the genre food they make, combined with a clear, direct vision of the service they provide.
For birthday’s, baptisms, and catering events of all-kinds; hiring a catering company who make tacos “on-the-spot,” (so-to-speak), aka a “Taquiza,” or a “Taquero,” (or “Taquera” as-it-were), is becoming increasing popular. Case-in-point, the inception of “Taquiza Sanchez.”
