Founder and Principal of Phil’s Custom Painting, Felipe Estrada S., has been in-business for over 10 years. They specialize in custom paint job projects for in-and-around the home and/or office.
The goal was to create an online presence where current and perspective clients could contact them for project opportunities. We created a wordpress website that featured them in a variety of ways.
VC Property Brothers is co-op of brothers Enrique and Daniel Montaño who are both Realtors ® at RE/MAX Gold Coast Realtors in Ventura, CA. It is a take on thee popular HGTV show “Property Brothers,” where twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott aim to help couples find fixer-uppers and transform them into their dream homes. Similarly, the “VC Property Brothers,” aim to do the same, in the Ventura County market.
To start. The VC Property Brothers asked we create a logo for them, that encapsulated who they were/their essence so-to-speak. After several design variations, we quite literally took the silhouette of their main, combined, profile picture, that their existing and future marketing campaign was going to be centered around; and use that as the foundation of their logo design. It is set inside a simplified house silhouette that doubles for an “up” arrow, signifying upward mobility and prosperity both, for them and for their clients they humbly serve. Lastly, we made sure to include the VC Property Brothers title inside the logo design, surrounding the perimeter of the logo, in a circular fashion.

Now that their logo was complete, it was time to package and put-together their “Logo Style-Guide.” The Logo Style-Guide is an instruction sheet that helps clients understand the various file-formats their logo is saved in and what the different uses are intended for. We at Republic Design Company pride ourselves on educating our clients on proper logo usage techniques and are always available to assist our clients on an on-going basis…

Next, it was time to move onto the design and production of their business cards. The business cards production needed to complement the ‘dapper’ look-and-feel of Enrique and Daniel Montaño’s profile picture. They opted for a 16 point card stock with silk-laminate look-and-feel, along with spot UV gloss on certain portions of the graphics of the business cards. Included with all pertinent contact information, membership associations, charitable causes, and facebook + twitter links; the cards came-out great…

After designing and producing their business cards, it was time to start designing and producing the VC Property Brothers website, www.VCPropertyBrothers.com. We have incredible photography of Enrique and Daniel Montaño. We have a strong logo/identity/brand design already set in place. Now it was time to pool all these element, online…
We built the VC Property Brothers website on WordPress.com. We at Republic Design Company love working in wordpress because, “IT’S FREE!” Only fee our clients have to pay is the annual domain name purchase (which runs approximately $15.ºº on GoDaddy or WordPress).
The VC Property Brothers website comes fully equipped with feature video, contact page, client testimonials, instagram and facebook links. But it doesn’t stop there! One of the most robust features on the VC Property Website is the integration of the sophisticated home-search service option, IDX…
IDX/MLS Home Search
IDX(Internet Data Exchange) is how MLS listings end up on a website.
Also known as Broker Reciprocity, IDX encompasses the policies, rules, and software that allow listings from the MLS database to be displayed publicly.
Anytime you see properties on a website that came from an MLS, it was made possible through IDX.
Most real estate agents and brokers use IDX to simply display MLS listings or home search tools on their website, but as home buyers have become more Internet-savvy, IDX has evolved to encompass more. Agents today have the option to use basic home search tools provided by their MLS, or build more advanced IDX solutions; usually with the help of an IDX vendor.
NOW, anyone interested in searching for properties for sale in the Ventura County area (and beyond), can go to VC Property Brothers website, and serach from a comprehsevie list of available listings!
BONUS:
Along with the aforementioned marketing collateral, Enrique and Daniel casually inquired if we could design their vehicles back windshield graphics. We at Republic Design Company were more-than-happy to oblige. We designed the perforated vinyl graphics and installed them to their vehicles, respectively.

We’d like to sincerely thank Enrique and Daniel Montaño for the opportunity to assist them with their Marketing needs…
First, as the name of the company evokes, “101 Roofing & Construction,” draws a strong affinity to thee 101 freeway; which runs throughout/connects it’s service area of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties. As-such, we wanted to combine visual similarities of “roofing and/or roofs,” along with the iconic 101 freeway shield. The following are 5 design comps/variations we originally came-up-with…
101 Roofing & Construction Logo Design Comps/Variations
After client selected logo/identity (at top of this wordpress entry), we then proceeded to create an online presence as featured at http://www.101Roofing.com.
Client specified that they wanted to be featured on a vast array of popular social media platforms, (facebook, twitter, google+, tumblr, pintrest, linkedin, instagram). We created custom buttons+links for previous/current/perspective clients to add/follow/be-friend 101 Roofing & Construction, “all over the place, (so-to-speak).”
“Follow 101 Roofing EVERYWHERE…”
Concurrently, in the natural course of design discovery, we wanted to continue to include iconic visuals associated with 101 Freeway crest, now infused with it’s “Roofing & Construction” aesthetics. The result is a “Ventura Freeway-esque” inspired adornment, complete with iconic green freeway signs, freeway trussing, whimsical palm trees/shrubbery, light-posts, and blue skies…

Client also wanted to address ambiguity of service area. As such, we created a semi-topographical map of the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties area and listed every single city in their “Service Area.”
101 Roofing & Construction Service/Coverage Area (LA, VTA, SB Counties)
Last, we silk-screen-printed some long-sleeve t-shirts for the 101 Roofing & Construction Staff:

Thanks to 101 Roofing & Construction for the opportunity to assist in the (re)design, (re)production, and implementation of all marketing collateral. Looking forward to future opportunities to work together on mutually beneficial projects…
The Z5th Hour commissioned Republic Design Company for the design and implementation of http://www.TheZ5thHour.com website, and also it’s ongoing online presence maintenance.
The Z5th Hour was originally conceived by thee enigmatic artist, dancer, dj, and principal creative, Luis Soto aka “Chauncey Pearls.” With musical influences like Doc Martin (Sub-Level), Marques Wyatt (Deep, LA) and Jason Bentley (KCRW), Chauncey’s primary focus was to bring House Music to Ventura County. It was (and still is), important (to Chauncey) to make the distinction between House Music and it’s over-popularized parent, Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Although House Music fall’s under the EDM umbrella, it’s primary distinction lies within the “feeling” one derives when referring to one or the other. As such, Chauncey’s hell-bent on bringing that “feeling,” of “House Music,” to Ventura County area, (and beyond)…
Luis Soto aka “Chauncey Pearls”
As the name denotes, “The Z5th Hour,” in it’s simplistic form, implies “Time.” In researching various graphical representation of “Time Clock’s,” along with The Z5th Hour futuristic sound based off of Funk + Disco; it seemed like a natural progression to use this retro-digital-styled type-font, as it’s identity + livery.
The Z5th Hour Logo/Identity
With Chauncey’s creative direction, in conjunction with the newly agreed-upon logo/identity; these “All Day, House Music, All Night,” icon’s came about in the natural course of design discovery.
“All Day, House Music, All Night”
I do have to admit… The “Do what makes you happy,” rule applies in this instance because I, too, am a “House Music aficionado.” I listen to this genre music, at length, and The Z5th Hour was pleased with the work rendered. They further commissioned Republic Design Company to continue their “online presence” and advocacy by blogging and aggregating across all their social media platforms. Aside from designing and producing all their marketing collateral (such as event flyers + posters), they also had me blog about new and relevant music, as follows:
We also compiled “Teaser Video’s” (like the one that follows), to promote events on different social media platforms
We are pleased to be The Z5th Hour’s design consultant’s of choice.
Melanie Baldonado had already identified her “online voice,” which is one of the most tedious obstacles to initiate. She was already present on various social media platforms like facebook, twitter, and google+. This puts her ahead of the game because she was already laying-down the ground-work for her “online presence.” Melanie Baldonado had also already begun a series of hilarious youtube videos. As the world knows, the Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.), potential/capabilities of online video are astronomical.
So it seems like Melanie Baldonado was doing pretty good on her own. For all the reasons mentioned above, (and then some), Melanie Baldonado was doing GREAT as a matter of fact. From an online perspective, Melanie Baldonado was “All Over The Net…” At this point, your probably wondering, “Why hire Republic Design Company?” Answer: “Bring It All Home…”
The objective of http://www.MelanieBaldonado.com, was to create a centralized location for her audience to learn about Melanie Baldonado and engage across all of her ongoing platforms. Perhaps a fan see’s her perform comedy somewhere, but didn’t realize she was also an Actress. Perhaps a talent agent is interested in seeing and learning more about Melanie Baldonado? For all of these reasons, (and more), a website made more-and-more sense.
After developing the website creative brief, we asked Melanie Baldonado to give us any-and-all photography she felt best represented her. Fortunate for Republic Design Company, Melanie Baldonado ‘isn’t hard to look at…’ She made the job of creating and developing the visual presence of http://www.MelanieBaldonado.com very easy… We began by editing and cropping some great, high-resolution images, putting her name in thee proverbial “Big Lights,” and sparsely spreading her images throughout. The result is the main Melanie Baldonado main header also found throughout most all her different social media platforms.
Melanie Baldonado main header
To add a little variety to the norm heading titles, we organized and labeled her website heading’s with funny titles like, “Du-Jour, 411, Stalk, Watch, Pix, and Holler.” We instituted a blog, contact section, stalk her across a myriad of social media platforms and highlighted her Performance Calendar and Instagram pictures at bottom of each page of her website.
We’re very happy and thankful for the opportunity to assist Melanie Baldonado on this project.
Republic was asked to create an original logo/identity that encompassed a feeling relating to (the end of) the month of October. What better iconic figure/symbol than the classic “pumpkin” to serve as the backdrop/anchor to the overall visual presentation of Ventura Family Fun Fest? We then decided to wrap a red ribbon 3 times around the exterior of the pumpkin to highlight the title sponsor, (REMAX), the name of the event (Ventura Family Fun Fest), and for whom the benefit of this event is/(was) for, (Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals). The finishing touch was the inclusion of what we refer to as the “end-tails” in which the top-right-hand end-tail denotes “1st Annual,” and bottom-left-hand end-tail denotes “5K/1K.”

Last, but certainly not least, we at Republic Design Company would like to sincerely thank Briana Bouffard, Business Development Director at RE/MAX Gold Coast Realtors, for her generous solicitation of our graphic design services. We look forward to working with Briana next year for the 2nd Annual Ventura Family Fun Fest…
