CABEC (California Association of Building Energy Consultants) commissioned Republic Design Company for the design and implementation of thee CABEC Conference 2022 Energy Pivot Decarbonizing Buildings Logo/Identity Design.
CABEC Conference 2022 Energy Pivot Decarbonizing Buildings Logo Design
This upcoming CABEC Conference is aptly titled, “CABEC 2022 Energy Pivot, Decarbonizing Buildings.” It is set to take place in Temecula, California at the beautiful Temecula Creek Inn. With that said, our client wanted to incorporate the iconography and livery of classic Temecula along-with forward-thinking and energy-future technologies like wind and solar. We asked our client to give us a few logo design concepts/direction they’d like us to incorporate and/or emulate into the logo design…

After our client selected the featured logo design, we then proceeded in creating the CABEC Conference 2022 Energy Pivot Decarbonizing Buildings Logo Style-Guide. The Logo Style-Guide is an instruction sheet that helps clients understand the various file-formats their logo is saved in and what the different uses are intended for. We at Republic Design Company pride ourselves on educating our clients on proper logo usage techniques and are always available to assist our clients on an on-going basis…

CABEC (California Association of Building Energy Consultants) Mentorship Committee commissioned Republic Design Company for the design and implementation of thee CABEC Mentorship Logo/Identity and Tri-Fold Brochures.
CABEC Mentorship Logo
“Mentorship,” (as defined by Google), is, “the guidance provided by a mentor, especially an experienced person in a company or educational institution. A period of time during which a person receives guidance from a mentor.” So the idea behind this concept is a simple ‘hand-shake,’ between ‘mentor,’ and ‘mentee.’ It’s supposed-to evoke the feeling of the beginning of a relation/mentor-ship. A sort-of, “helping-hand,” if-you-will…

Next we were tasked with creating a tri-fold brochure employing the newly created design elements of the CABEC Mentorship logo identity; along with emulating design elements from industry partner Energy Code Ace. We worked closely with thee CABEC Mentorship Committee in acquiring and formatting the verbiage/copy to lay out on this marketing piece, (as follows):

Real Estate Listing Specialist, Ricardo Salazar, asked we design and create a marketing piece he could use to reach-out to current and perspective home buyers and sellers. The beauty of this marketing piece is that it functions both when making face-to-face contact with current and perspective clients, as-well-as, when not making face-to-face contact. Simply put, ‘if nobody’s home, leave a door-hanger’. The door hangers accentuate Ricardo and his “Dream Team’s” strengths, accomplishments, well-wishes, services-offered, along-with ‘success stories’ of recent listings (like www.660cortecorridacamarillo.com) and all pertinent contact info.
The Z5th Hour commissioned Republic Design Company for the design and implementation of http://www.TheZ5thHour.com website, and also it’s ongoing online presence maintenance.
The Z5th Hour was originally conceived by thee enigmatic artist, dancer, dj, and principal creative, Luis Soto aka “Chauncey Pearls.” With musical influences like Doc Martin (Sub-Level), Marques Wyatt (Deep, LA) and Jason Bentley (KCRW), Chauncey’s primary focus was to bring House Music to Ventura County. It was (and still is), important (to Chauncey) to make the distinction between House Music and it’s over-popularized parent, Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Although House Music fall’s under the EDM umbrella, it’s primary distinction lies within the “feeling” one derives when referring to one or the other. As such, Chauncey’s hell-bent on bringing that “feeling,” of “House Music,” to Ventura County area, (and beyond)…
Luis Soto aka “Chauncey Pearls”
As the name denotes, “The Z5th Hour,” in it’s simplistic form, implies “Time.” In researching various graphical representation of “Time Clock’s,” along with The Z5th Hour futuristic sound based off of Funk + Disco; it seemed like a natural progression to use this retro-digital-styled type-font, as it’s identity + livery.
The Z5th Hour Logo/Identity
With Chauncey’s creative direction, in conjunction with the newly agreed-upon logo/identity; these “All Day, House Music, All Night,” icon’s came about in the natural course of design discovery.
“All Day, House Music, All Night”
I do have to admit… The “Do what makes you happy,” rule applies in this instance because I, too, am a “House Music aficionado.” I listen to this genre music, at length, and The Z5th Hour was pleased with the work rendered. They further commissioned Republic Design Company to continue their “online presence” and advocacy by blogging and aggregating across all their social media platforms. Aside from designing and producing all their marketing collateral (such as event flyers + posters), they also had me blog about new and relevant music, as follows:
We also compiled “Teaser Video’s” (like the one that follows), to promote events on different social media platforms
We are pleased to be The Z5th Hour’s design consultant’s of choice.
Republic was asked to create an original logo/identity that encompassed a feeling relating to (the end of) the month of October. What better iconic figure/symbol than the classic “pumpkin” to serve as the backdrop/anchor to the overall visual presentation of Ventura Family Fun Fest? We then decided to wrap a red ribbon 3 times around the exterior of the pumpkin to highlight the title sponsor, (REMAX), the name of the event (Ventura Family Fun Fest), and for whom the benefit of this event is/(was) for, (Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals). The finishing touch was the inclusion of what we refer to as the “end-tails” in which the top-right-hand end-tail denotes “1st Annual,” and bottom-left-hand end-tail denotes “5K/1K.”

The San Gabriel Valley Conservation Corps, (SGVCC), in conjunction with Ruby Rose Sanchez, commissioned Republic Design Company for the design and implementation of the “Green Apple Day of Service” (5.5″ x 8.5″), postcard/flyer/e-flyer:
Green Apple Day of Service Flyer
First a little background on “Green Apple:”
“A quarter of all Americans walk through the doors of a school every day. Yet instead of walking into places of opportunity, millions enter buildings where the air they breathe is filled with toxins and mold, where classrooms are poorly lit and overcrowded, and where resources are limited and outdated. Too many of our children are learning in buildings that are compromising their health and ability to succeed.
Our kids deserve better. Where they learn matters.
Green Apple is an initiative of the Center for Green schools at USGBC to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breath, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future. We know how to create high performing schools that save hundreds of thousands of dollars and provide safer learning environments for our children. Learn more —> here <—
Second, a little about the “Day of Service:”
“The first annual Green Apple Day of Service will take place on Sept. 29, 2012. For one day, advocates from around the world, including students, teachers, parents, elected officials, organizations, companies and more, will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking action in their communities.” Learn more —> here <—
Lastly, a little about the Center for Green Schools:
“The Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is the organization behind the Green Apple movement, working to ensure that every student has the opportunity to attend a green school within this generation. The Center provides the resources and support to elevate dialogue, accelerate policy and institute innovation toward healthy, high-performing schools and campuses. The Center works directly with staff, teachers, faculty, students, administrators, elected officials and communities to drive the transformation of all schools into sustainable places to live and learn, work and play.” Learn more —> here <—

The principals of the Q Club Oxnard commissioned REPUBLIC Design Company for the design, implementation and production of not just another business card; but a carefully-crafted/multi-faceted marketing piece…
Q Club Oxnard Business Card Marketing Tool Photo
First, a little background…
The Q Club Oxnard is a full-service billiards, bar-and-grill, sports lounge, that has been a staple in Oxnard and the Ventura County area for many, many years. To best exemplify Q Club Oxnard and capture it’s “essence,” one can-NO! -One must draw the comparison between it, and the hit 80’s T.V. sit-com, “CHEERS” (featuring Ted Danza, Kristie Alley, Shelley Long, Kelsey Grammer [to name a few] and various other beloved actors/characters). Q Club Oxnard, just like “CHEERS” magically capture an essence and camaraderie that was (then) and is (now) best summed-up by the now-infamous quote:
“where everybody knows your name…”
Simply-put, The Q Club Oxnard is, “home.” A friendly place where ALL are welcome to catch their favorite game on TV, have a drink, play a little bit of pool/billiards. Heck, Q Club Oxnard even comes fully equipped with their very own “Norm (played by then actor George Wendt)!” You have to visit and experience it for yourself…

Republic Design Company was called upon to strategize, delineate, and stream-line Q Club Oxnard’s core competencies into the 8 following categories:
1. Delicious Grill Menu | 2. Fully Stocked Bar: 16 beers on Tap & Mixed Drinks! | 3. Party + Catering Facilities for all Occasions | 4. 3 x 16 ft. Mega-Screens + Flat Screens Throughout | 5. Live Music, DJ’s, Karaoke, Bands, & Dancing | 6. All Sports Packages: UFC, HBO, PPV, Boxing, FOX Deportes, Soccer (futbol) | 7. Pool and Pool Leagues plus Billiards and Billiard Accessories | 8. “Lunch Power Hour” Specials
Coupled with recurring/subliminal messages on-top of imaginary green-felt background of pool table, was, of-course the Q Club Oxnard logo and contact information, hours, and facebook web address:
Q Club Oxnard
2362 N. Oxnard Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93036 | (805) 278-1231
Instead of creating individual/personalized business cards for each employee of the Q club Oxnard; we designed the marketing collateral piece in such a way that not only can existing and perspective employees of the Q Club Oxnard could write their names onto, but key friends-and-family of the Q Club Oxnard (or whomever management would like to grant access to) can “write their name” directly to the left of “says…” with a pen or Sharpie…
“The Q is for YOU!”

The back of this marketing collateral piece is designed with the objective of increasing the Q Club Oxnard’s email database with the allure of not only a 25% discount off your next purchase*, but the ongoing inclusion of special offers that are going to be made available exclusively to email database subscribers!

Universal Music Latin Entertainment + Mastercard + Juanes + MTV Unplugged credentials and wristbands photo
First, a brief background on Juanes…
“Whereas many of his Spanish-language contemporaries undertook English-language crossover campaigns at one point or another in their careers, Colombian singer/songwriter/guitarist Juanes won global appeal in his native language exclusively and became perhaps the biggest and most important popular Latin music artist in the world in the early 21st century, (via MTV bio’s).”
Next, a brief overview of their latest venture…
“Juanes: MTV Unplugged is a the third live album of Colombian singer Juanes. It was recorded before a live audience at the New World Symphony Center in Miami Beach, Florida, on February 1, 2012 and will release by Universal Music Latin Entertainment on May 29, 2012. The album includes featured performances by the spanish composer Joaquín Sabina, the brazilian singer Paula Fernandes and the fan artist Emanuela Bellezza, (via wikipedia).”
For their latest leg of their tour (in Puerto Rico), REPUBLIC Design Company was asked to use cinematographic elements present in their MTV Unplugged taping, throughout all marketing collateral pieces, including; “credentials,” “tickets,” and “wristbands,” (featured below).”
